Job Description

Location: Field Based – Mid Wales – Telford, Shrewsbury, and surrounding areas

Salary: Competitive day rate

Contract: Self-Employed

Hours: 1-2 days a week

We have an exciting opportunity for self-employed Energy Efficiency Specialist to cover Mid Wales – Telford, Shrewsbury, and surrounding areas. The main purpose of the role is to undertake assessments for all NICEIC customers registered for EEM, Building Fabric Measures (BFM) and /or Domestic Heating installations on our MCS PAS 2030 and Competent Person schemes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Undertaking procedural and site competency assessments for NICEIC registered businesses for MCS Building Fabric Measures (BFM) and /or Domestic Heating installations to PAS 2030 and Building Regulations Competent Person schemes.
  • Assessing businesses' work and resources to ensure they comply with the scheme rules and technical requirements relating to prior to registration.
  • Technical Excellence surveillance assessments to determine their eligibility for continued certification.
  • Building relationships with applicants for registration, electrical contractors, their employees and various other professional bodies, and providing qualified assessment services.
  • Working independently in accordance with instructions and guidance outlined in procedural manuals.
  • Demonstrating a high level of technical competence over EEM Building Fabric Measures (BFM) and /or Domestic Heating Installations to PAS 2030

Requirements:

  • Detailed knowledge: EEM Building Fabric Measures (BFM) and /or Domestic Heating Installations to PAS 2030 and related codes of practice
  • Suitable technical qualifications: EEM Building Fabric Measures (BFM) and /or Domestic Heating Installations to PAS 2030
  • Detailed knowledge: relevant Competent Person schemes
  • Report writing, numeracy and PC skills
  • Communication skills: with the ability to build excellent relationships at all levels
  • Excellent customer service skills: can recognise the customers' needs and strives to deliver the best level of customer service
  • Excellent time management skills: with ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines
  • Knowledge: accreditation criteria
  • Full UK driving licence

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Corporate membership of the IET/ CIBSE
  • Domestic Energy Assessor /Retrofit Assessor
  • Retrofit Coordinator
  • Auditing experience
