We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Machine Shop Production Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of our machine shop. Reporting directly to the Managing Director, the successful candidate will be responsible for planning, operational management, and problem-solving to ensure the machine shop meets its performance targets and supports the company's overall strategic objectives.
Key Responsibilities:- Implement manufacturing strategies and action plans as directed by the Managing Director to align the machine shop with business objectives.
- Plan and manage daily production in line with the order book and future projects.
- Conduct performance appraisals, identify training needs, and work with the Production Manager to develop a multi-skilled, flexible, and motivated team.
- Collaborate with designers and customers to provide input on both new developments and existing products.
- Program/offline program using CADCAM software.
- Set up and operate CNC machines as required.
- Maintain clear communication with customers and stakeholders at all levels.
- Ensure accurate stock management and booking of materials to specific jobs.
- Collaborate with other manufacturing teams to maintain product quality and meet standards.
- Attend and contribute to monthly management meetings.
- Lead team planning sessions and manage production workload.
- Ensure production documentation is logged and updated.
- Implement lean manufacturing practices to enhance efficiency.
- Monitor daily performance targets, including quality and productivity metrics.
- Ensure compliance with safety, process, procedures, and quality assurance standards.
- Proven experience managing or supervising in a CNC machine shop environment.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to plan ahead and work systematically.
- Adaptable to change and able to manage pressure effectively.
- Focused on delivering high-quality products that meet customer satisfaction and standards.
- Experience with CADCAM software and CNC machine operations.
- £65,000 per annum + benefits
- Company pension with 3% employer contributions.
- 25 days annual leave + statutory holidays.
- Working hours: Monday-Thursday 7 am to 4 pm, Friday 7 am to 12 pm.
