Position Overview

We are pleased to present a remarkable opportunity to join our dedicated team at the North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust within the Medical Assessment Unit (MAU). Our unit operates in a dynamic and fast-paced setting, focused on delivering exceptional care and thorough evaluations for patients experiencing a range of medical issues. The MAU is equipped with 20 beds and a specialized 14-chair assessment area, ensuring comprehensive care and prompt evaluations.

The patients we serve are primarily ambulatory, supported by a 24-hour discharge strategy to facilitate their treatment and recovery. Our team addresses a diverse array of medical conditions, catering to various specialties. Key Responsibilities

Our unit receives patients from the Emergency Department, necessitating further assessment and potential admission. Therefore, a comprehensive knowledge base in general medicine is crucial for this position. Our service is continuously evolving, and we provide extensive training and education to help you acquire specialized skills and advance your career, including opportunities to progress to a senior staff nurse role.

We offer a thorough Trust induction program, including four specific days dedicated to registered practitioners within your first month of employment. You will receive complete support from the ward to ensure the best possible experience.
