About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to join our Board of Trustees as a Board Member - Community Champion. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in shaping the future of ParaPride and contributing to our mission of promoting inclusivity and accessibility for the LGBTQIA+ and disabled communities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategic Leadership: Provide strategic guidance and oversight to ensure the effective implementation of our charitable objectives.
  • Community Representation: Serve as a representative of the LGBTQIA+ and disabled communities, bringing a deep understanding of their needs and experiences to our decision-making processes.
  • Governance and Administration: Contribute to the development and implementation of our governance and administrative policies, ensuring that our organization is well-managed and compliant with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Financial Management: Provide oversight and guidance on our financial management, ensuring that our resources are used effectively and efficiently to achieve our charitable objectives.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work collaboratively with our team, stakeholders, and partners to promote our mission and values, and to build strong relationships with our communities.
Requirements
  • Commitment to Inclusivity: Demonstrate a strong commitment to promoting inclusivity and accessibility for the LGBTQIA+ and disabled communities.
  • Leadership and Governance Experience: Possess experience in leadership and governance roles, with a strong understanding of charity law and governance best practices.
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Time Commitment: Be able to commit to regular Board meetings and other responsibilities, as outlined in our Board Member - Community Champion role description.
