At Babcock, we are dedicated to fostering a secure and safe environment. As a Systems Engineer, you will contribute significantly at our various sites.
Role Responsibilities
In this position, you will be involved in numerous design and construction initiatives. Your responsibilities will encompass:
- Conducting analyses on electromagnetic effects, focusing on Tempest, Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC), Electromagnetic Interference (EMI), Electromagnetic Pulse (EMP), electrostatic discharge (ESD), and lightning assessments.
- Collaborating across various engineering disciplines to provide oversight throughout the design lifecycle of marine projects.
- Creating and interpreting Tempest and EMC/EMI requirements, ensuring they are effectively communicated and implemented at all design levels.
- Presenting findings and recommendations during design reviews to both internal and external stakeholders regarding EMC/EMI challenges.
- Developing design guidelines for Tempest and EMC/EMI, and performing detailed analyses on components and systems.
This role operates on a full-time basis, with a structured hybrid work model allowing for both office and remote work.
Essential Qualifications
- Proven experience in EMC/EMI.
- Familiarity with laboratory testing equipment, including spectrum analyzers and measurement devices.
- Ability to effectively translate system-level EMC/EMI requirements into detailed specifications.
- Extensive experience in designing EMI filters and conducting circuit layout analyses.
- Knowledge of modeling and simulation tools for EMC/EMI analysis is advantageous.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a deep understanding of the engineering principles relevant to this role.
Educational Background
- A degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant engineering discipline.
- A master's degree in electrical engineering, specializing in Electromagnetics or RF technology is preferred.
- Membership in a professional institution and progress towards Chartered status is desirable.

The selected candidate must be eligible to obtain and maintain Security Check (SC) clearance.
