About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Overhead Line Design Engineer to join our team in the UK&I energy sector. As an Overhead Line Design Engineer, you will be responsible for delivering a wide range of OHL projects, producing and reviewing technical documents in line with industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and review technical documents for OHL projects
  • Conduct feasibility studies to assess the technical and economic viability of proposed projects
  • Coordinate with other engineering disciplines to ensure the overall integrity of the project
  • Develop design criteria, conductor selection, structure type selection, insulation coordination, and lightning performance

Requirements:

  • Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Structural, or Civil Engineering
  • Experience as an Overhead Line Design Engineer or similar role working on Transmission and Distribution projects
  • Strong understanding of complimentary T&D disciplines, such as HV Plant design, HV Cable design, or T&D Civil design
  • Experience of developing OHL deliverables and managing OHL delivery and workload across multiple projects
