Our renal department is committed to delivering kidney care across Devon, emphasizing the prevention of kidney disease and the provision of haemodialysis. We operate multiple units where patients receive essential dialysis treatment several times a week, a critical procedure for maintaining health and quality of life.

Role Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities Include:

The Service Administrator will manage various administrative tasks related to consultants and other non-clinical duties. This role does not involve direct patient care but focuses on ensuring that patients are scheduled for treatment in compliance with NHS standards. The position is dynamic and requires proficiency in using the trust's IT system, EPIC, which is essential for patient management. Effective communication with consultants, nursing staff, and patients is vital. Strong typing skills, proficiency in email communication, attention to detail, and excellent interpersonal abilities are required. Ongoing support will be available until you achieve competence in your role.

This position is strictly administrative, with no direct involvement in clinical procedures. Your primary task will be to coordinate patient bookings in accordance with NHS guidelines. The role demands effective use of the EPIC system and regular interaction with healthcare professionals and patients. A solid command of typing, email correspondence, proofreading, and communication is essential. We are committed to supporting you throughout your journey to proficiency.

You should possess outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with proven experience in handling patient inquiries over the phone. Flexibility, adaptability, and strong IT skills are essential attributes for success in this role.
