Job SummaryThe Facilities Engineer will be part of the Facilities team, supporting the site's footprint project. This involves conducting detailed surveys of existing aerospace assembly and process equipment. The successful candidate will develop new layout configurations, working with manufacturing engineering and the tooling team to optimize the layout and manage the procurement, installation, and commissioning of infrastructure facilities.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct feasibility studies and initial proposals for industrial needs
- Design and create 3D and 2D layouts using CATIA and AUTOCAD
- Develop building services, including lighting, compressed air, electrical infrastructure, and vacuum services
- Install point-of-use services for assembly lines, including vacuums, electricity, air, and data
- Collaborate with surveyors and professional bodies to ensure compliance with current legislation
- Work with suppliers to develop technical and commercial solutions
- Coordinate with various stakeholders, including manufacturing engineers, tooling, and HSE
- Plan and supervise the safe lifting and movement of assembly fixtures
- Manage contractors to Safran and site SHE standards, including UK CDM legislation
- Produce technical data for training and handover to the operations team
- Support training and fault-finding on installed facilities post-commissioning
- Evaluate risks and implement mitigation measures
The ideal candidate will have:
- Time-served engineering experience
- Good working knowledge of building services
- Proficiency in 2D and 3D CAD operations using CATIA
- Qualifications in mechanical engineering (HNC or equivalent)
- Project management experience
- Proficiency in MS Office
- Good interpersonal skills
- IOSH Working Safely certification
- Knowledge of building safety and risk analysis techniques
- Green belt Six Sigma certification
