NHS Scotland is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Information Governance Officer to join our team. As an Information Governance Officer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the effective management of information across the organization.
Key Responsibilities- Information Governance Administration: Manage the administrative function of the Information Governance Department, ensuring that all administrative tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
- Data Protection and Compliance: Run daily audits against clinical systems to identify potential data breaches and investigate any issues that arise, escalating or seeking advice where necessary.
- Information Asset Management: Populate and review the Board's Information Asset Register to ensure that it is complete and up-to-date, providing standard reports to senior managers as required.
- Customer Service: Act as the first point of contact for telephone and email queries from the general public, patients, and staff, logging all enquiries and requests for support via our service management system.
- Support to IG Officers: Provide administrative support to IG Officers, including preparing letters, filing documents, and managing shared drives.
- Excellent Organizational and Communication Skills: Possess a high standard of interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, with the ability to pay attention to detail.
- Technical Skills: Be proficient in the use of all Microsoft Office packages and have the ability to handle sensitive information discreetly and in confidence.
- Initiative and Teamwork: Be able to work on your own initiative, balanced with being a supportive and collaborative team member.
