Band 6 Specialist Nurse Position

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Band 6 Specialist Nurse to join our multidisciplinary team at Leeds Teaching Hospitals. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality care to patients with Type 1 and complex Type 2 diabetes, as well as providing in-patient care across various sites.
Main Responsibilities:- Assess and develop care plans for patients with diabetes, ensuring a comprehensive and patient-centered approach.
- Provide expert advice and education to patients, families, and healthcare staff on diabetes management and care.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of diabetes services, ensuring alignment with national guidelines and best practices.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to provide seamless care and support to patients.
- Participate in clinical audits and quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and service delivery.
- Registered Nurse (Level 1) qualification.
- Recognized teaching/assessing qualification.
- Significant experience working as a Band 5 Staff Nurse or equivalent post-registration experience in a relevant specialty area.
- Clinical audit and standard setting experience.
- Service development and change management experience (desirable).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong leadership and teaching abilities.
- Ability to work flexibly and adapt to changing priorities.
- Commitment to delivering high-quality evidence-based care.
- Commitment to working in a multi-disciplinary team.
