Key Responsibilities

The Centre Lead will play a pivotal role in:

  • Assisting the Service Coordinator in overseeing the daily operations of one of the Clinical hubs during the GP Extended and Out of Hours service.
  • Collaborating closely with the clinical team to ensure the provision of high-quality services across both Extended and Out of Hours operations.
  • Proactively planning and coordinating with service coordinators to ensure seamless service delivery while addressing any challenges that may arise.

About ELM Alliance LTD

Founded in 2017 by local GP practices, ELM Alliance Ltd employs approximately 250 dedicated professionals. We provide NHS services to the communities of Redcar, Cleveland, and Middlesbrough, focusing on primary care, care home services, and community health initiatives. As the healthcare landscape evolves, we are excited to work collaboratively with General Practice, other NHS providers, and the voluntary sector.

Core Duties

The Centre Lead will be responsible for:

  • Supporting the Service Coordinator in managing daily activities across multiple clinical hubs, including staff coordination and acting as the first point of contact for operational queries.
  • Facilitating the training and onboarding of new and locum staff, ensuring all resources are adequately managed.
  • Addressing day-to-day operational challenges, including IT issues and resource management, while escalating matters to the Head of Operational Management as needed.
  • Ensuring that operational policies are communicated effectively and are accessible to all staff members.
  • Collaborating with other Centre Leads and Service Coordinators to optimize service efficiency across all Clinical hubs.
  • Contributing to the development and implementation of emergency plans at the service level.
  • Maintaining accurate records of staff hours, including overtime and absences, and liaising with the Rota manager when necessary.
  • Assisting in budget management and ensuring compliance with National Quality Requirements.
  • Monitoring patient demand and flow to ensure timely service delivery.
  • Supporting the ongoing development of operational policies and procedures.
  • Gathering data for audits to enhance service delivery and review.
  • Engaging in the investigation of complaints and incidents in collaboration with the Head of Operational Management and Clinical Directors.
