Morgan Sindall Plc is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Bid Management Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our bid team, you will be responsible for planning and managing all aspects of the bid process to ensure the best possible chance of success.
Key Responsibilities- Plan and manage the end-to-end bid process, ensuring timely and effective delivery of high-quality bids.
- Conduct thorough research to identify industry best practices, client requirements, and win themes to inform bid strategy.
- Develop and lead the win plan and win strategy, working closely with stakeholders to ensure alignment and buy-in.
- Coordinate and lead the governance process, ensuring all necessary approvals are obtained and bid processes are consistently implemented.
- Monitor and control bid spend, ensuring adherence to budget and developing costed bid plans as needed.
- Develop and maintain a clear bid programme, enabling accurate progress reporting and effective stakeholder management.
- Allocate resources, actions, and timescales for all bid activities, ensuring timely completion and high-quality delivery.
- Plan, arrange, and lead bid meetings, including win plan reviews, kick-off meetings, progress meetings, risk workshops, design meetings, and settlement meetings.
- Record, analyze, and manage issues, risks, opportunities, and change throughout the bid process.
- Provide inspiration, support, and constructive challenge to bid team members to ensure everyone performs at their best.
- Ensure all client requirements are understood and reflected within the bid.
- Actively contribute to the internal settlement and adjudication process, reviewing written proposals for compliance, accuracy, and suitability.
- Lead tender presentations, interviews, and negotiations with clients, reviewing feedback and lessons learned to promote continuous improvement.
- Lead internal post-submission feedback reviews to drive improvement, analyzing and sharing learning from client post-tender feedback.
- Lead a handover with operations, effectively communicating the bid strategy and solutions.
- Utilize and update the Dynamics 365 customer relationship management tool to manage the governance process and update information on future opportunities.
- Educated to degree level or equivalent.
- Bid management training, such as Shipley or the Winning Bids Masterclass.
- Able to produce governance packs that articulate clear messages, both written and orally.
- Proficient user of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Previous successful bid management experience in a similar infrastructure environment.
- Experience managing designers and the design process.
- Experience with stakeholder management.
- Excellent knowledge of construction industry practices and standards.
- Strong understanding of commercial aspects of bids, such as typical terms and conditions and procurement models.
