About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Grid Policy Manager to join our team at EDF Energy. As a key member of our Strategy and Corporate Affairs Directorate, you will play a critical role in developing and managing business strategies, identifying and mitigating risks, and creating opportunities for growth and value.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead on policy campaigns connected to EDF's generation interests and growth strategy, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Support the business with Grid Code compliance matters, utilizing strategic thinking to identify solutions to complex technical issues.
  • Deliver regular updates, advice, and guidance on grid policy issues, providing clear recommendations and decisions for action in support of business activities.
  • Represent the company view in key industry forums, including bilateral meetings with National Grid, the Electricity System Operator, Ofgem, and Government.
  • Ensure senior management and executive teams are briefed on grid-related matters as required.
Requirements
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to communicate complex issues simply and with impact.
  • Detailed knowledge of the energy market, industry rules, and contracts.
  • Familiarity with the Grid system and related policy issues, including the operation and financing of network companies.
  • A proactive, 'can-do' approach, with the ability to tackle new topics, take initiative, and think innovatively.
  • Ability to propose work scope, focus on adding value, and highlight new areas of business risk and opportunity.
