Part Time Financial Controller Wanted

We are seeking an experienced Financial Controller to join our client's dynamic organisation in the sustainable food packaging industry. As the backbone of their financial operations, you will ensure the company's financial health is maintained and improved with your expertise.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare and present financial statements (P&L, balance sheets, cash flow statements) to ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Develop, manage and monitor the company's annual budget, conduct financial forecasting to project future revenues, expenses, and financial performance, and identify variances between actual and budgeted results.
  • Internal Controls and Compliance: Establish and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure accurate financial reporting, ensure compliance with tax laws, financial regulations, and internal policies, and manage audits, both internal and external.
  • Cash Management: Oversee the company's cash flow to ensure sufficient liquidity for operational needs, oversee accounts payable and receivable, and optimise working capital.
  • Financial Analysis and Strategy: Conduct financial analysis to support business decisions and assist in strategic planning by providing financial insights and projections.
  • Team Leadership and Development: Lead and manage the accounting team, including training and performance management, and ensure the team adheres to best practices and stays updated with accounting standards and regulations.
  • Tax Planning and Compliance: Manage tax planning to minimise the company's tax liability and ensure timely and accurate filing of tax returns.
  • Cost Control and Expense Management: Monitor and control company expenses to optimise profitability and implement cost-saving initiatives.
  • Risk Management: Identify financial risks and implement measures to mitigate them and ensure adequate insurance coverage and compliance with financial risk policies.
  • Financial Systems and Process Improvement: Oversee the implementation and maintenance of financial software and systems and continuously improve accounting processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

Requirements:

  • Education: Degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business.
  • Experience: 5-7 years of experience in Financial Management and Reporting.
  • Skills: Strong Analytical Skills, Advanced Accounting Knowledge, Attention to Detail, Strong Communication Skills, Strategic Thinking and Problem Solving, Technological Proficiency, Regulatory Compliance and Risk Management, Time Management and Organisational Skills, Integrity and Ethical Judgement, Business Acumen.

Location: Orpington

Working Pattern: Part-Time - 2 days per week - £20,000-£25,000 annually for the 2 days per week structure
