About the Role

This is a junior to mid-level position within the Strategy and Investment Management teams at Seven Investment Management LLP. The successful candidate will provide technical support to the teams, focusing on data management and tool development to enhance the quality and scalability of the investment process.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the Strategy team in developing tools to inform asset allocation, contributing to the ongoing development of the Strategic Asset Allocation (SAA) and Tactical Asset Allocation (TAA) components of the multi-asset investment process.
  • Manage the team's data creation and storage, ensuring timely and accurate uploads of target position data.
  • Supply data to Portfolio Managers on asset risk and static data to support the creation of model portfolios.
  • Support the Portfolio Management team in executing fund trades.
  • Provide ad-hoc support to the Strategy and Portfolio Management teams on research projects.
Requirements
  • A strong interest in investment management, including asset allocation and investment views.
  • Ability to develop an understanding of investment portfolio theory, portfolio construction, and risk techniques in a multi-asset context.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Masters or strong undergraduate degree in a quantitative subject.
  • Working towards or having gained the CFA or equivalent qualification.
Desirable Skills
  • Ability to learn and apply judgement in investment decision-making.
  • Strong team player with adaptability to changing needs.
  • Capacity to understand, interpret, and replicate financial academic literature.
  • Enquiring and curious mind with a willingness to learn new skills and adapt to new tasks.
  • Comfortable working with large datasets, including querying and uploading data.
  • Experience in R, MATLAB, or Python, preferably in a commercial setting or academic studies.
