Position Overview:

We are currently seeking an Engineering Team Leader to join our Engineering Department at our Bradford facility. This pivotal role involves spearheading functional excellence within a team of line engineers, focusing on enhancements and ensuring plant reliability across all operational areas.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the lead engineer during off-hours in the absence of engineering Front Line Managers (FLMs).
  • Inspire and guide line engineers while tracking work completion through established KPIs.
  • Oversee work log documentation and facilitate effective shift handovers.
  • Ensure compliance with Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) and corrective work, including improvements to maintenance systems.
  • Collaborate on MBD reporting with manufacturing, ensuring thorough Root Cause Analysis (RCA) is conducted with actionable solutions.
  • Promote continuous improvement initiatives and assist in cost-saving projects.
  • Work in tandem with Manufacturing FLMs to achieve broader site KPIs, including Waste and Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).
  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of maintenance ratios and incident reporting.
  • Drive Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) standards within the department, including initiating accident investigations.
  • Manage external contractors during off-hours as required.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Possession of a recognized Engineering degree or completion of an apprenticeship.
  • Experience in the bakery or food manufacturing sector (FMCG).
  • Proven engineering background.
  • Strong knowledge of Health and Safety regulations.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • A collaborative team player.
  • Ability to work independently and demonstrate initiative.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to changing operational needs.

Employment Details:

This is a full-time, permanent role requiring shift work (4 on, 4 off) at our Bradford Bakery.
