Job Title: Digital Archives Supervisor

Reporting to the Archives Manager, the Digital Archives Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing the implementation of ADS policies and procedures, ensuring that all data are managed according to best archival and curatorial practice, and taking the lead in developing policy and procedure for data from the Heritage Science and Conservation Research (HSCR) domains.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in overseeing the implementation of ADS policies and procedures
  • Ensure that all data are managed according to best archival and curatorial practice
  • Develop policy and procedure for data from the Heritage Science and Conservation Research (HSCR) domains
  • Work on digital archives themselves, including high-profile and/or complex archive projects
  • Support the Collections Development Manager in ensuring the team operates efficiently and meets all project deadlines

Requirements:

  • Experience of working in a digital preservation environment
  • Knowledge of approaches to digital preservation and information management, including data standards, digital preservation (OAIS), metadata standards and schemas, and the FAIR principles
  • Experience in mentoring or supervising members of a small team
  • Ability to write reports and/or documentation
  • Advanced level of relevant digital skills, e.g. as an advanced user of GIS or digital imaging
