We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Digital Archives Assistant. As a key member of our digital preservation team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the long-term accessibility and preservation of our digital assets.
About the RoleThe successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out routine administrative and IT processes to facilitate the smooth running of our digital repository. This will include tasks such as data ingestion, metadata management, and quality control. You will also have the opportunity to work on various projects, including the archiving of digital outputs from commercial projects and research initiatives.
Key Responsibilities- Carry out routine administrative and IT processes to ensure the smooth running of our digital repository
- Manage metadata and ensure accurate and consistent data entry
- Conduct quality control checks on digital assets to ensure they meet our preservation standards
- Assist in the development and implementation of digital preservation policies and procedures
- Collaborate with colleagues to achieve team goals and objectives
To be successful in this role, you will need to have excellent organizational and communication skills, as well as a strong attention to detail. You should also have a basic understanding of digital preservation principles and practices. Experience with digital asset management systems and metadata standards would be an asset.
