Business Development Manager

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Business Development Manager to join our team at Clarksons PLC. As a key member of our Port Agency & Integrated Marine Logistics division, you will be responsible for driving business growth, developing strategic relationships, and delivering exceptional client service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain close relationships with key clients to understand their needs and develop tailored service offerings.
- Progress key client requirements efficiently, ensuring alignment with company and client expectations.
- Set and achieve KPIs, including invoicing timescales, to drive business growth and improve client satisfaction.
- Collaborate with senior management to develop long-term strategic relationships with clients, suppliers, and business partners.
- Identify new leads and assist the BD team in assigning targets for development.
- Support the generation, submission, and follow-up of quotations and tender responses.
- Represent the company at trade shows, conferences, and similar events to create business opportunities.
- Regular travel, domestically and overseas, to visit clients, suppliers, and business partners.
Requirements:
- Proven background in business development within the shipping sector, preferably with B2B sales experience.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively liaise with people at all levels.
- Client-oriented approach, with the ability to tailor service offerings to meet client needs.
- Organized and self-motivated, with the ability to multi-task and prioritize to meet deadlines.
- Positive and enthusiastic attitude, with a can-do approach.
- Ability to work calmly under pressure and use initiative to solve problems.
- Flexible and proactive approach to work, with strong IT skills and intermediate Excel skills.
