ROLE OVERVIEW:
Our team is looking to recruit a Lead Social Care Practitioner/ASYE to join our established group to assist our Foster Parents and Young People.
Your responsibilities will include supporting foster parents and their families to achieve exceptional outcomes for all children and young people in care.Monitor and ensure the ongoing suitability and competence of foster parents, guaranteeing they provide a safe, nurturing, and educational environment for children and young people.
Ensure that caregivers fully comprehend the fostering responsibilities, competencies to be achieved, and the standards expected, including grievance and representation procedures as outlined in FCA policies.
Provide and document regular supervision to assigned foster parents in accordance with FCA's Operational Standards.Collaborate in a team-oriented approach to identify any needs within the foster family, such as
respite, activities, therapy, and holidays, involving all members of the child's support network, including contributing to relevant meetings and other defined tasks.
Ensure compliance for each child and foster parent regarding all essential documentation.Attend meetings and/or provide reports for Commissioning Teams to address individual care packages.
Encourage the participation of children and young people in the agency's development and in accessing resources and opportunities within their local community.
Participate in an 'out of hours' support service on a rotational basisConduct occasional initial home visits and Form F Assessments.
REQUIREMENTS:
A Social Work qualification
Professional registration with Social Work England or equivalent
Proven ability to produce high-quality reports
A thorough understanding of relevant legislation and child safeguarding protocols
Willingness and ability to travel extensively (including occasional overnight stays)
Confidence in transporting children and young people in challenging situations
