Safer Hand Solutions Ltd is in search of a proactive and skilled Bid Manager to enhance and lead the current Bid Team. This pivotal role is essential for advancing business development initiatives through effective team leadership and overseeing the bid process from initial planning to final submission.

Key Responsibilities:

Bid Process Oversight:

  • Direct the comprehensive bid process, ensuring timely submissions by your team that comply with both internal and external deadlines.
  • Establish and enforce all necessary bid protocols, governance, and methodologies.
  • Guarantee that all proposals meet the specified requirements and standards.
  • Engage in the presentation and negotiation phases, providing constructive feedback and applying lessons learned.

Team Leadership:

  • Build and lead a Bid Team, integrating contributions from essential stakeholders such as Sales, Marketing, Operations, and Finance.
  • Conduct regular one-on-one meetings, semi-annual reviews, and manage requests for leave and absences.
  • Identify and address training and development needs, securing necessary approvals and organizing training for your team.

Strategic Development:

  • Formulate a clear win strategy for each bid in collaboration with the Sales lead.
  • Contribute to the development of value propositions, opportunity assessments, win strategies, commercial discussions, and solution delivery.
  • Promote continuous improvement through post-bid evaluations, both internally and with clients.

Communication and Coordination:

  • Prepare and review the commercial elements of bids, ensuring comprehensive inclusion of all products/services in the final proposal.
  • Manage risk assessment and mitigation throughout the bidding process.
  • Coordinate and schedule all client presentations required as part of the bid submission.
  • Oversee all communications via relevant platforms, ensuring they reflect current company information.

Documentation and Reporting:

  • Contribute to the written proposal, ensuring adherence to corporate branding guidelines, formatting standards, and quality benchmarks.
  • Consolidate sections/documents prepared by team members into the required tender format.
  • Maintain and back up master document sets.
  • Keep the Tender library and sales database updated.

Qualifications:

To excel as a Bid Manager, you should possess proven experience in bid management, demonstrating a successful track record and a robust understanding of bid management processes, techniques, and best practices.

You will also need:

  • A background in solution selling and experience in bid management from opportunity identification through to project delivery.
  • Demonstrated team leadership capabilities.
  • Strong commercial acumen and risk management skills.
  • Exceptional communication skills (both written and verbal), with the ability to clearly articulate points in presentations and bid documentation, a keen attention to detail, and assertiveness in obtaining information from colleagues within set timelines.
  • Excellent organizational skills, capable of managing complex, multi-workstream opportunities, handling multiple and changing timelines, and staying on top of a diverse and rapidly evolving workload.
  • A forward-thinking approach with the ability to swiftly identify and navigate potential challenges and objections, creatively aligning prospects' needs with the company's solutions.
