About the Role

Omexom, a leading brand in the energy sector, is seeking a highly skilled Safety and Quality Advisor to join our Substations Business Unit. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the highest standards of operational safety and quality are maintained across our projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinating Safety Efforts

Act as a role model in promoting a safety-first culture within the project teams, ensuring compliance with relevant safety legislation and procedures.

Incident Investigation and Reporting

Conduct thorough investigations into incidents and accidents, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence.

Safety Monitoring and Audits

Regularly monitor and audit safety procedures and practices, ensuring compliance with company policies and industry standards.

Training and Development

Develop and deliver training programs to project staff on safety procedures, risk management, and quality control.

Client Interface

Represent Omexom at client safety forums, meetings, and events, ensuring effective communication and collaboration on safety matters.

Document Control and Compliance

Manage and maintain accurate records of safety documentation, including COSHH, Calibration, and Inspection databases.

CDM 2015 Compliance

Ensure compliance with the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015, including acting as the CDM Coordinator for construction projects when required.

Requirements
  • Essential Qualifications and Experience
    • A sound working knowledge of safety legislation, procedures, and associated requirements, gained from a safety management role within a utility or contracting environment.
    • A NEBOSH general/construction certificate.
    • Knowledge of electrical networks and associated plant and equipment, gained from previous relevant experience.
    • Experience in compiling project HSE plans and documentation.
    • Experience in managing compliance with CDM 2015.
    • Strong IT skills with the ability to utilize Microsoft Office to deliver statistical analysis and reports.
    • Evidence of good written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence others at both an operational and senior management level.
    • A full clean driving license.
  • Desirable Qualifications and Experience
    • Experience in the substation industry and knowledge of distribution construction.
    • Experience of interfacing with external customers to ensure our employees adhere to their safety procedures, policies, and work practices.
    • A sound working knowledge in the application and monitoring of OHSAS 18001, ISO 14001, and ISO 9001.
    • HND/degree in a relevant discipline and/or additional safety-related qualifications or membership of relevant professional bodies.
