Logistics Administrator - (internally referred to as Traffic Dispatcher/Planner)

Location: Aylesbury Office

Hybrid Role – remote work approximately 1 day a week, with the remainder office-based.

Overview of the Role:

The Logistics Administrator will play a crucial role in facilitating the daily operations of the Reactive Services logistics team. This position involves the strategic allocation of vehicles to ensure optimal service delivery, adherence to health and safety regulations, and compliance with environmental and legislative standards. The role also emphasizes employee engagement and continuous enhancement of productivity and service quality.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Daily management of operational staff allocation to achieve superior service delivery.
  • Optimize route efficiency and utilize the best disposal outlets to maximize vehicle and facility use.
  • Conduct end-of-day debriefs with operational staff to identify challenges and implement swift solutions.
  • Oversee driver availability and compliance with legislation and company protocols to ensure consistent coverage.
  • Perform administrative tasks, including organizing documentation and responding to internal communications.
  • Assign work to appropriate vehicle types based on legal standards.
  • Monitor vehicle availability daily, ensuring drivers complete necessary checks before heading out.
  • Collaborate with the Depot Manager to ensure compliance with driver working hours.
  • Provide support to operational staff via phone throughout the day.
  • Assist in the implementation of new initiatives and services.

Qualifications:

We are looking for candidates who possess:

  • Experience in a similar role within the Services or Logistics sector.
  • A strong focus on health and safety practices.
  • Solid geographical knowledge, particularly of postcode areas.
  • Understanding of transport and logistics operations.
  • Familiarity with current and upcoming environmental and health and safety legislation.
  • Experience interacting with first-line operational staff.
  • Background in a labor-intensive, multi-shift environment.
  • Proficiency in computer systems and adaptability to new technologies.
