Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and empathetic individual to join our team as an Employment Support Officer at Essential Employment. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in providing mentoring and employment support to young people aged 16-24 who are not in education, employment, or training (NEET).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individually tailored support to young people, focusing on building confidence, motivation, and personal development to help them into employment, education, or training.
  • Identify and engage with young residents who are furthest from the labour market and experiencing multiple forms of disadvantage or significant additional support needs.
  • Develop and implement support plans that empower young people to take ownership of their goals and aspirations.
  • Work collaboratively with other agencies and stakeholders to ensure a comprehensive and coordinated approach to supporting young people.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of support plans and make adjustments as needed.

Requirements:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with young people and stakeholders.
  • Strong understanding of the challenges faced by NEET young people and the importance of providing tailored support.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible and adaptable approach.
  • Knowledge of local services and resources that can support young people.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
