About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant in Intensive Care Medicine to join our dynamic team at Lewisham & Greenwich NHS Trust. As a key member of our Critical Care Department, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and contributing to the development of our transformation strategy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality patient care in Intensive Care Medicine, with a focus on delivering excellent outcomes and patient satisfaction.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of our transformation strategy, working closely with the team to drive improvement and innovation.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the department to ensure seamless care delivery and effective communication.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes to enhance patient care and outcomes.
  • Develop and deliver teaching and training programs for junior staff, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge to provide high-quality care.
Requirements
  • MBBS (or equivalent) and full registration with the GMC, with a Licence to Practise.
  • CCT or CESR(CP) in Intensive Care Medicine, or within 6 months of obtaining this at the time of interview.
  • FICE echocardiography accreditation and experience in a relevant base discipline (e.g. anaesthesia, emergency medicine, respiratory medicine, nephrology).
  • ALS/APLS/ATLS Instructor in at least one of these courses and a strong understanding of research principles and research governance.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team and lead by example.
