Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Project Delivery Manager to join our Synergy Programme team at the Department for Work and Pensions. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading and delivering complex projects and programmes, working closely with multiple stakeholders and teams to drive business change and improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the delivery of individual complex programmes and projects, with competing priorities and multiple stakeholders.
  • Develop and implement project plans, resource models, and progress reporting, while identifying and mitigating project risks and issues.
  • Manage stakeholder relationships, including internal partners and external relationships, to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
  • Promote effective individual and team performance, sharing knowledge and best practices, and supporting personal development.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a leadership role, scoping, designing, and implementing complex change in a large and diverse organisation.
  • Experience of defining, tracking, and planning project scope, deliverables, and timelines, managing risks and interdependencies.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across boundaries.
  • Experience of working with multi-disciplinary teams to deliver results within fixed timeframes.

Desirable Skills

  • Understanding of Agile principles and practices, and experience in applying these in a fast-paced environment.
  • Commercial experience, although not essential.
