Exciting Opportunity for a Project Quality Assurance Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Project Quality Assurance Specialist to join our team at Chart Industries. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality standards are met throughout the lifecycle of our large and complex package projects.

Your primary focus will be on managing all aspects of quality, from initial quotation to final delivery. You will work closely with our cross-functional teams to develop and maintain inspection and test plans, quality plans, and other critical documents to meet contract requirements.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Assuming responsibility for all aspects of quality management throughout the value stream of packages from quote to cash.
  • Developing and maintaining inspection and test records, paint specifications, and quality plans to meet contract requirements.
  • Working alongside colleagues to understand project and product needs, as well as providing witness inspection and test support at suppliers.
  • Inputting to supplier selection and working closely with Supplier Quality to improve HCO supply chain performance.
  • Liaising with clients and witnessing authorities to meet contract requirements, supporting inspection and process review activities at subcontractors' works.
  • Reviewing and approving relevant supplier documentation, such as weld procedures, NDE procedures, and material certification, in accordance with code and client requirements.
  • Facilitating and leading root cause investigation and management of non-conformances, ensuring closure of corrective actions.
  • Using a continuous improvement approach to promote built-in quality concepts into standard work, collaborating with operations, engineering, commercial, and procurement teams to drive improved manufacturing and supply chain performance and early defect detection.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Experience in sourcing, engineering, quality, manufacturing, and program management.
  • Effective problem-solving and root-cause analysis skills to lead and influence others to drive change.
  • Excellent communication skills at all levels, written and verbal.
  • Excellent data analysis skills with the ability to present data effectively.
  • Understanding of witness inspection and test activities.
  • Understanding and interpretation of engineering drawings.
  • Understanding manufacturing processes.
  • Report and procedure writing with excellent presentation skills.
  • Understanding and experience working with ISO 9001 quality management systems.
  • Strong technical background in one of the following areas: casting, machining, metallurgy, welding, fabrication, or relevant manufacturing/packaging experience.
