Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team as a Capital Finance Policy and Briefing Lead and Finance Business Partner. This is an exciting opportunity to work with the Department of Health and Social Care, contributing to the development and implementation of policies and strategies that shape the future of healthcare in the UK.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead on briefing requests on capital matters, working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to ensure timely and high-quality responses.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including NHS England colleagues, to ensure effective communication and coordination.
  • Provide financial advice and support to senior leaders, ensuring accurate and robust financial controls.
  • Assess NHS capital investment programmes and schemes from a financial perspective, presenting findings in assurance reports for joint DHSC/NHSE committees.
  • Participate in strategy work, including involvement in the Spending Review process.
Requirements
  • Experience of central government finance policies and protocols, with the ability to acquire a rapid understanding of new policies and procedures.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to develop collaborative relationships with a range of stakeholders.
  • Good communication and written skills, with the ability to provide clear briefings to senior leaders.
  • Strong organisational skills, with a consistent track record of delivering quality outputs to tight deadlines.
  • Good data analysis skills, with the ability to analyse and handle data for the purposes of producing evidence for advice.
