Market Talent is seeking a highly skilled Deputy Head of Credit to join our esteemed team in the City of London. This key leadership role requires a strong background in credit quality, risk management, and deal cycle management.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Establish and Maintain Credit Processes: Develop and implement a structured end-to-end review process for the Credit Approval Unit, ensuring strict compliance with Group policies and local regulatory guidelines.
  • Monitor and Analyze Credit Performance: Develop and monitor key performance metrics related to risk mitigation, review quality, and efficient processing of credit proposals.
  • Assess and Approve Credit Proposals: Objectively assess and approve credit proposals within delegated authority, identifying key risk issues and providing reasoned conclusions.
  • Coordinate Credit Committee Meetings: Coordinate and participate in Credit Committee meetings, including organizing meetings, minuting decisions, and managing approvals through circulation when necessary.
  • Review and Update Credit Policies: Review and update credit policies and procedures in line with Group requirements, industry trends, and regulatory updates.
  • Manage Reporting Requirements: Take ownership of internal and external reporting requirements related to the monitoring of credit facilities.
Requirements:
  • Experience: Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in credit application review and transaction management within the UK, with a focus on corporate, SME, and Real Estate / BTL banking products.
  • Skills: Proficiency in Excel spreadsheets and database tools, knowledge of Emerging Markets SMEs, business models, market and industry trends, and understanding of BASEL, PRA, and FCA risk guidelines, calculations, and policy adherence.
