Position Overview
AAK is looking for a dedicated Mechanical Site Engineer to join our Hull Maintenance team. This role operates Monday to Friday and presents an exciting opportunity to contribute to our maintenance efforts by providing essential engineering support for plant-related challenges.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure a safe working environment by adhering to site safety policies and procedures.
- Develop and implement engineering standards in collaboration with the Global operations team, aligning with both national and international benchmarks.
- Act as the primary liaison and coordinator for Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) maintenance programs and enhancement initiatives.
- Assist in critical maintenance activities aimed at minimizing downtime and transitioning from reactive to planned maintenance.
- Oversee all compliance and statutory inspections related to the site, ensuring thorough documentation and modifications, excluding electrical aspects managed by the Electrical Manager.
- Collaborate with maintenance teams to effectively schedule and coordinate maintenance activities, including area and annual plant shutdowns.
- Manage relationships with external contractors to ensure adherence to site contractor standards.
- Support inventory management to ensure critical spare parts are adequately stocked and maintained.
- Ensure timely scheduling and completion of all compliance and statutory inspections, along with necessary follow-up actions.
- Accurately allocate costs in accordance with AAK's financial guidelines for OPEX and CAPEX.
- Be accountable for the mechanical integrity of the ammonia systems on site and lead efforts to enhance the ammonia compressor rooms to world-class standards.
Candidate Profile:
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and skills:
- HNC/HND in Engineering is essential; a degree in a relevant engineering discipline is preferred.
- Proficient understanding of Maintenance Management and methodologies.
- Familiarity with reliability principles, including criticality analysis, downtime assessments, MTTR, MTBF, and management of critical spares.
- Capability to devise engineering solutions for complex technical challenges.
- Solid understanding of current compliance regulations.
- Proficient in computer applications.
- Demonstrated leadership skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Meticulous attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Adept at managing and prioritizing multiple tasks.
