About the Role

AAK is seeking a highly skilled Site Mechanical Engineer to join the Hull Maintenance team. This challenging role will involve supporting the maintenance team daily and providing engineering solutions to plant issues.

Main Responsibilities
  • Ensure a safe working environment through the application of site safety policies and procedures.
  • Develop and implement site engineering standards, working with the Global Operations team to national and international standards.
  • Liaise with OEMs to coordinate maintenance programs and improvement projects.
  • Support maintenance activities to reduce downtime and reactive maintenance, and move towards planned work.
  • Oversee compliance and statutory inspections, including documentation, excluding electrical work.
  • Work with maintenance to coordinate scheduled maintenance activities with operations, ensuring effective planning and execution.
  • Manage relationships with external contractors to align on site standards.
  • Support stores to ensure critical spares are stocked and managed.
  • Ensure compliance and statutory inspections are scheduled, completed, and actions are taken in a timely manner.
  • Allocate costs accurately in accordance with AAK's financial specifications.
  • Be accountable for the mechanical integrity of site ammonia systems and upgrade compressor rooms to world-class standards.
About You

The successful candidate will have:

  • A time-served HNC/HND in Engineering or a relevant discipline.
  • Working knowledge of Maintenance Management and techniques.
  • Knowledge of reliability principles, criticality analysis, downtime reviews, MTTR, MTBF, and critical spares.
  • Ability to develop engineering solutions to complex issues.
  • Good understanding of current compliance regulations.
  • Computer literacy.
  • Proven leadership capabilities.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Able to manage and prioritize workloads.
