Debden Retirement Village, a leading provider of retirement living, is seeking a skilled Kitchen Assistant to join their team. As a Kitchen Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring the highest standards of food safety and hygiene in the kitchen.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation and serving of meals to residents, maintaining a high level of quality and presentation.
- Wash, peel, and chop vegetables and fruits, adhering to strict food safety guidelines.
- Assist with dishwashing and maintain cleanliness in the kitchen, ensuring a safe and healthy environment for residents and staff.
- Clean and sanitize kitchen surfaces, equipment, and storage areas, adhering to strict hygiene standards.
- Help ensure the kitchen meets all food safety and hygiene standards, maintaining a high level of compliance.
- Stock and organize kitchen supplies, ensuring efficient and effective kitchen operations.
- Support the cook and kitchen team as needed, providing a positive and collaborative work environment.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Experience in a similar role in a kitchen or food service environment is preferred but not required.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail, ensuring high-quality food preparation and presentation.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues and residents.
- Basic understanding of food hygiene and safety standards, with a commitment to maintaining a safe and healthy environment.
