About the Role

Five Education Recruitment Limited is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to support children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in a small special school in Redbridge. As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in helping children with Speech, Language, and Communication Needs (SLCN) and SEMH (Social, Emotional & Mental Health needs) to access teaching content and engage in lessons.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver targeted interventions to support children with Special Educational Needs
  • Support children in class to access teaching content and engage in lessons
  • Manage challenging behavior in a calm and patient manner
  • Ensure children's safety and welfare is maintained
  • Liaise with the class teacher and/or SENDCo
Requirements
  • Previous experience supporting Special Educational Needs in young people
  • Understanding of a range of different Special Educational Needs
  • Ability to build and maintain trusting relationships
  • Remain calm under pressure
  • Flexibility and willingness to adapt according to changing needs

Pay and Vetting

Five Education operates a PAYE payroll; this is the most transparent way to be paid with no hidden fees such as admin fees or employers' NI. We are also proud to be an accredited Living Wage employer. Please note pay rate is for illustration and does include holiday pay.

Successful applicants will be required to undergo checks including reference checks, TRA checks and will need to have a DBS; there will also be a video interview.
