Data Centre FM Engineer Job Description

Sudlows, a leading technical services company, is seeking a skilled Data Centre FM Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our Critical Infrastructures business, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional data centre maintenance, reactive calls, and small electrical installation projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Undertake planned maintenance, reactive calls, and small electrical installation projects in data centres and critical environments.
  • Ensure all site facilities system failures are attended to and rectified efficiently and effectively.
  • Oversee contractors working onsite, ensuring risk assessments and method statements are in place and work permits are issued.
  • Conduct site surveys, gather and present material lists and labour requirements for quotations.
  • Ensure all tasks carried out adhere to relevant compliances, policies, and standard operating procedures.
  • Perform fixed wiring testing and compliance to current IEE regulations.
  • Have due regard for HASAWA, COSHH, and Electricity at Work Regulations, and recommend remedial actions as necessary.
  • Be available for call-out in the event of site facilities systems failures and paid out-of-hours reactive attendance.
  • Accurately record all works carried out onto the planned preventative maintenance database.
Requirements:
  • Current Electricity at Work regulations (IEE) qualification (18th edition preferred).
  • A high level of electrical and mechanical experience in site-related work, including HVAC and plumbing.
  • City and Guilds Initial and Periodic Electrical Inspection and Testing.
  • GMP documentation knowledge, including quality investigations and completing quality documentation.
  • Level 1 thermography certification (advantageous).
