About the Role

The Costing and Estimating Engineer is a key member of the Osborne Engineering Limited team, responsible for ensuring the smooth flow of activities through the Business Unit in accordance with customer requirements and company standards.

This role plays a vital link between the Sales, Production & Commercial departments to ensure the effective planning, implementation & delivery of the division's sales business strategy alongside the day to day progression of live Sales Orders, with a view to encompassing all business growth opportunities.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Responsible for all service & repair and Manufacture Request for Quotes (RFQ's) from initial enquiry to issuing the quotation to the customer, assisting sales chase as follow ups.
  2. Responsible for selected house accounts.
  3. Route card creation and issued to production by the required date.
  4. Develop and maintain process documentation, including operating procedures, process flow diagrams and work instructions.
  5. Read, interpret & communicate technical drawings assisting engineering department.
  6. Performing contract review on receipt of PO to ensure customer requirements are met.
  7. Link between customer and production from enquiry stage to completion of order.
  8. Liaise with internal departments as required, attending meetings and updating progress.
  9. Analyse existing processes to enhance efficiency, reduce costs and ensure product quality.
  10. Prepare and present cost analyses and progress reports.
  11. Implement lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement initiatives.
  12. Ensure processes are compliant with all relevant procedures, safety and quality standards.
  13. To ensure all work/tasks/procedures/documentation meet the requirements of ISO 9001:2015.
  14. Maintain accurate records.
  15. Any other ad hoc duties as required.
Requirements
  1. Must be proficient in Engineering & Manufacturing planning and processes, ideally within the oil and power generation industry.
  2. Have experience with a solid knowledge of multi axis milling, turning and other processes.
  3. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  4. Proficiency in process simulation and CAD software.
  5. Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles.
  6. Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  7. Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritise tasks effectively.
  8. Strong attention to detail able to read and interpret manufacturing drawings.
  9. Good organisational skills.
Working Arrangements

This is a full-time, permanent role working day shift, Monday to Friday, in person at our office.

We offer a competitive salary of up to £32,000.00 per year, plus company pension, on-site parking, private medical insurance and sick pay.
