Job Role

The role of the Assistant Psychologist will be to support and enhance the psychological care of clients within our hospital by assisting the Qualified Psychologists in the delivery and evaluation of effective services that meet our objectives, national strategic and policy guidelines, commissioner requirements and user and carer needs and expectations. To thereby help understand, prevent and ameliorate psychological distress and disorder and improve mental health and wellbeing of clients.

The role involves the administration, scoring and report writing of psychometric assessments, standardised risk assessments, clinical formulation and supervised individual and group interventions. Clinical supervision will be provided as an important part of personal and professional development, and additional training will be supported.

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Assistant Psychologist to join our psychology team within the adult male PICU and Acute service. The successful candidate will have previous experience of working within in-patient mental health services and settings, and at least 6 months previous experience of working as an Assistant Psychologist and delivering 1:1 therapeutic work and group therapy sessions.

All candidates will be subject to an enhanced DBS check and reference checks.
