About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Education Coordinator to join our team at Margaret Clitherow Trust. As a key member of our multi-disciplinary team, you will play a vital role in empowering children from Gypsy, Roma and Traveller communities to reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work collaboratively with children, families, and agencies to secure educational placements, SEN provision, consistent attendance, and achievement.
  • Develop strong relationships with education providers to tackle education inequalities and secure the best outcomes for children within our communities.
  • Contribute to the development of strategies to address the complex barriers faced by Gypsy, Roma and Traveller children in accessing education and other statutory services.
Person Specification

We are looking for a candidate who is committed to achieving excellent outcomes for clients and aligned with the vision and values of the charity. You will be warm and compassionate, yet able to demonstrate healthy boundaries and professionalism. You will have experience of successful work with children and an understanding of education systems.

You will be able to demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as sound IT skills. Resilience and a sense of humour are essential for this role.

Working Arrangements

This is a part-time role, 0.6fte, 24 hours per week. There is the opportunity for a full-time position by combining this role with the Health and Social Care Coordinator vacancy.

The salary for this role is £17,184 per annum (£28,643 fte). We also offer a pension scheme, personal training budget, and generous paid holiday equivalent to 7 weeks per year plus bank holidays.
