Job Title: Building Safety Officer

We are seeking a highly skilled Building Safety Officer to join our team at Liquid. As a key member of our building services team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and compliance of our buildings.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the management and development of processes related to landlord statutory compliance, ensuring adherence to relevant legislation.
  • Design and manage Building Safety Cases for our portfolio, ensuring buildings remain compliant with their respective cases.
  • Establish and maintain effective communication with residents, ensuring timely resolution of queries and effective engagement.
  • Maintain general compliance throughout communal areas and dwellings, including fire safety, gas safety, electrical safety, and water hygiene.
  • Carry out inspections of FRA recommendations to verify accuracy and identify opportunities for value for money.
  • Complete periodic inspections of communal areas to check cleaning standards, possessions, and fire door functionality.
  • Assist with contract management of contractors undertaking works to implement FRA recommendations.
  • Undertake tests on fire safety equipment to ensure compliance with British standards.
  • Deliver training to staff, contractors, and residents on fire and building safety matters.
Requirements:
  • Degree-level education or relevant industry experience.
  • Knowledge of legislation and regulations relating to building safety and services.
  • Knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems, equipment, and compliance.
  • Service improvement planning and problem-solving skills.
  • Negotiating and influencing skills with stakeholders and partners.
  • Ability to produce reports, analyze data, and present findings.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and plan and deliver activities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Competent in core Microsoft Office packages.
Experience:
  • Experience working within a building services environment.
  • Experience writing detailed reports.
  • Experience using a wide variety of IT systems.
