Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Ambulatory Care RN to join our team at Liverpool Heart and Chest Hospital. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the development and implementation of clinical protocols.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide competent venepuncture and IV cannulation services to patients.
- Maintain and complete accurate source documentation and oversee the preparation of study activity.
- Record patients' medical history and current health status at research clinic attendance.
- Perform phlebotomy, monitor vital signs, and conduct other specialized nursing procedures as required.
- Participate in and coordinate planning, development, and implementation of clinical protocols in accordance with research parameters.
- Plan and carry out protocols for the screening, recruitment, and retention of clinical research subjects.
- Undertake data collection systems and procedures, specimen collection, processing, and recording of clinical data and/or specimen samples as required.
- Update the research database with clinical data.
Professional Development
- Stay up-to-date with departmental and Trust policies and NHS developments for the management of clinical research.
- Attend relevant courses and study days to enhance professional development.
- Act as a personal and professional role model at all times.
- Maintain the Personal Development Plan in discussions with line manager.
Compliance and Governance
- Comply with ICH GCP, the law, and the NMC Code of Conduct.
- Comply with the Data Protection Act 1984 and the Computer Misuse Act 1990.
- Comply with Trust, Directorate, and Clinical Trials Unit policies and protocols.
Requirements
- Registered Nurse with current registration with the NMC.
- Experience in clinical research and/or ambulatory care.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
