Academic Mentor Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Academic Mentor to join our team at a Mixed Secondary School & Sixth Form in South London.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support pupils in small groups and 1:1 basis to enhance their academic performance and confidence.
  • Collaborate with the SEN Lead to develop and implement plans for pupils' work programmes.
  • Assist class teachers during lessons to ensure a smooth learning environment.
  • Cover classes for short periods when the teacher needs to leave the room.
Requirements:
  • Right to work in the UK.
  • Clear and up to date Enhanced DBS.
  • UK Bachelor's Degree or an overseas equivalent.
  • Experience as an Academic Mentor in UK schools or working knowledge of supporting children/young people.
