Join Our Team as a Financial Planning and Strategy Lead

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Financial Planning and Strategy Lead to join our team at the National Physical Laboratory. As a key member of our finance team, you will play a critical role in shaping our financial strategy and ensuring the successful delivery of our goals.

About the Role

The successful candidate will have a strong background in financial planning and strategy, with experience of leading and delivering complex financial projects. You will be responsible for developing and implementing our financial strategy, working closely with stakeholders to ensure that our financial plans are aligned with our business objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement our financial strategy, ensuring that it is aligned with our business objectives
  • Lead and deliver complex financial projects, working closely with stakeholders to ensure successful delivery
  • Provide strategic leadership and guidance to our finance team, ensuring that they have the skills and resources needed to deliver our financial plans
  • Work closely with our CFO to ensure that our financial plans are aligned with our business objectives
  • Manage a team of financial planners and analysts, providing guidance and support to ensure successful delivery of our financial plans
Requirements
  • Qualified accountant (ACA or CIMA)
  • Established experience of strategic planning from concept to embedding
  • Experience of directing the financial elements of complex bid submissions, including tax and structuring considerations
  • An understanding and experience of ensuring the financial success of large programmes to deliver significant benefits
  • Excellent engagement, relationship building and influencing skills – with stakeholders at all levels
  • Sound Microsoft Excel skills including financial modelling and consolidation
  • Working with Microsoft D365
