About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Design Engineer to join our team at Hoare Lea, a leading engineering consultancy. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality electrical design services on a variety of projects across different sectors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead electrical services design on large projects and overall MEP on small to medium-sized projects
  • Collaborate with clients and other professionals to deliver projects successfully
  • Manage and prioritize the workload of a project team, including specialist groups
  • Host and chair internal project team meetings
  • Contribute to the professional development of individual team members
  • Monitor project expenditure and report to the project leader
  • Ensure quality standards and technical accuracy are delivered

Requirements:

  • Excellent technical knowledge in electrical design engineering
  • Thorough understanding of building services engineering and interdisciplinary design through all stages of the design process
  • Previous consultancy experience, with a focus on electrical design engineering
  • Able to lead small to medium-sized projects and take a brief from the project lead on large projects
  • Responsible for the quality of our outputs
  • Appreciation of client needs, with ability to face clients
  • Ability to identify when outsourcing is required, e.g., design & CAD work
  • Understand and identify resource needs
  • Mentor and supervise junior members of staff
