About the Role

We are seeking two dedicated and compassionate individuals to join our Disability Services department as Learning Assistants. As a Learning Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with disabilities, learning difficulties, medical needs, and mental health issues to achieve their academic goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide non-teaching support to students with special educational needs, ensuring their inclusion and participation in academic activities.
  • Follow professional guidance provided through EHC Plans and Learning Support Agreements to deliver tailored support.
  • Offer verbal and written feedback on learner progress and accessibility issues to teaching staff, promoting a collaborative approach to student success.
  • Assist in the preparation of teaching aids and materials, enhancing the learning experience for all students.
Requirements
  • GCSE 5-9 or equivalent level 2 qualification in Maths or be prepared to pass a test prior to interview to demonstrate level 2 ability and then achieve within an agreed timescale.
  • GCSE 5-9 or equivalent level 2 qualification in English or be prepared to pass a test prior to interview to demonstrate level 2 ability and then achieve within an agreed timescale.
  • Level 2 Safeguarding is desirable but not essential.
Desirable Qualities
  • Experience of supporting people with disabilities and/or learning difficulties, including voluntary work and/or student placements.
  • Experience of working in an education setting is desirable but not essential.
