About the Role:
Elevation Recruitment Group is proud to be working exclusively with a leading client in the Rail sector to recruit a Procurement Specialist to support their procurement team for a period of 12 months.
As a Procurement Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring the cost, quality, delivery, and overall financial performance of external suppliers' scope versus budget on assigned projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement purchasing policies, processes, and tools to ensure compliance and efficiency.
- Manage Capex and general operations purchasing expenses within the site, ensuring effective cost control and optimization.
- Ensure the reliability and performance of procurement data in the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system.
- Conduct supplier audits to assess performance and identify areas for improvement.
- Drive cost savings through sourcing activities, implement global and local contracts, and negotiate agreements with suppliers.
- Responsible for savings reporting, control, and follow-up, ensuring transparency and accountability.
- Manage local supplier base, driving and measuring supplier performance, and preparing relevant agreements for site operational spend.
- Collaborate with the team to claim management and follow up on penalties in projects/contracts.
Requirements:
- Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Experience in supplier performance management.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, with Microsoft Dynamics experience highly desirable.
- Rail/Engineering/Aerospace/Automotive background highly desirable.
