Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Research and Development Manager to join our team at Advanced Medical Solutions. As a key member of our R&D team, you will be responsible for leading the development and design of medical devices, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive innovation and growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead R&D Team: Manage and motivate a team of scientists and technicians to develop and design medical devices, ensuring they meet business needs and personal objectives.
  • Manage R&D Budget: Oversee the R&D budget for the team, ensuring effective resource allocation and cost management.
  • Product Development: Support the design and development of products through analytical and performance testing, ensuring they meet regulatory requirements and business needs.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure the R&D team maintains ongoing compliance with applicable regulatory requirements, standards, and company policies/procedures.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Originate and review R&D documentation, including protocols, reports, and design history files, and generate monthly reports on project, resource, and budget updates.
  • Stakeholder Management: Keep all stakeholders informed of R&D progress and issues, and ensure the R&D team provides support to other department objectives.
  • Risk Management: Analyze, mitigate, and monitor project risks, establishing contingency plans and identifying trigger events and responsibilities for initiating corrective action.

Requirements:

  • Education: Educated to degree level in a scientific discipline.
  • Experience: 5+ years of experience in R&D, with at least 2 years in a managerial role.
  • Skills: Proven record in test method development and validation, ability to think innovatively, experience of managing an R&D team of scientists, and ability to apply regulations without guidance.
  • Personal Qualities: Collaborative, driven, and able to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams.
