Job Summary

We are seeking a caring, energetic, and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Support Worker in Gloucester. As a Support Worker, you will be supporting individuals with complex needs, promoting their independence, and encouraging them to participate in their chosen activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Encourage individuals to participate in activities and follow their interests, including assisting them in the community.
  • Coordinate scheduled activities, using personalized rotas and liaising with others to ensure facilitated activities and appointments are attended.
  • Support individuals with their personal care, promoting independence wherever possible.
  • Encourage individuals to utilize proactive strategies to maintain their emotional wellbeing and mental health.
  • Ensure accurate and up-to-date records, including incident forms, daily notes, and finance records.

Requirements

  • Excellent communication and listening skills, as well as the ability to support individuals who use various methods of communication.
  • Knowledge, experience, or desire to support individuals with Mental Health, Learning Disabilities, or Challenging Behaviour is essential.
  • Good basic comprehension of the English language, including basic literacy and numerical skills (GCSE level or equivalent).
  • Ongoing commitment to personal development and training.
