Vetro Recruitment is seeking compassionate Support Workers to join a Residential Service in Exeter, Devon.

This rewarding full-time permanent position offers the opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of young vulnerable deaf individuals with complex needs.

The service caters to adults aged 18 and above, providing a variety of activities, educational support, and integration into the Deaf community. All service users communicate using British Sign Language and AAC devices, with additional BSL courses available.

Responsibilities:

  • Promote independence and assist individuals in decision-making processes.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of service users at all times.
  • Implement personalized care plans tailored to individual needs.
  • Accompany service users on community outings and engage them in various activities.
  • Provide necessary personal care as required, demonstrating empathy and respect.

Requirements:

  • A compassionate nature and a genuine desire to work with individuals with complex needs.
  • Basic knowledge of British Sign Language is essential.
  • Resilience and the ability to provide support in challenging situations.
  • A valid driver's license is required for this role.
  • Willingness to provide personal care and assistance as needed.
