About the Role

Morrison Energy Services is seeking a highly skilled Senior Substation Civil Design Engineer to join our design team in the UK.

As a Senior Substation Civil Design Engineer, you will be part of our Transmission Design Team responsible for all permanent and temporary works design support on contracts for National Grid, SSE, SPEN, and UK Distribution Network Operators.

Key Responsibilities

  • Produce effective substation civil designs, including structural, geotechnical, and foundation solutions, as well as temporary works.
  • Provide technical support to Design Engineers, Project Engineers, Site Engineers, and clients.
  • Liaise closely with the Design Delivery Manager - Substations, other Senior Design Engineers, and internal/external customers to ensure project, programme, and budgetary controls.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil, Structural, Geotechnical, or Geological Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • Significant experience in civil and structural substation design, with in-depth knowledge of National Grid specifications, British Standards, and UK TNO and DNO design standards.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in the Power Transmission & Distribution sector or similar.
  • Ability to self-learn Civil or Structural engineering software.
  • Proficiency in using 2D CAD software, preferably Autodesk products.
