Position: German Language Specialist (English to German)
Working Hours: Monday - Friday, 09:00 – 18:00

PTW is seeking a dedicated German Language Specialist to enhance our global Translation operations. We are in search of individuals with exceptional language proficiency and profound cultural insight into German.

Your primary responsibility will be to accurately translate video game content and serve as an interpreter for associated texts from English into German. You will adhere to product-specific guidelines to ensure the highest quality of linguistics and compliance with all relevant standards. Collaboration with a team of language professionals will be essential to deliver top-notch translations, whether through direct translation or document review.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the creation of glossaries and style guides in accordance with client specifications.
  • Contribute to the development of characterisation documents.
  • Execute translation tasks while following provided guidelines and instructions, including First Party terminology.
  • Perform revision tasks adhering to provided guidelines and instructions, including First Party terminology.
  • Collaborate with a larger team of translators or revisers.
  • Offer linguistic feedback for externally conducted work.
  • Ensure all tasks are completed within set deadlines and meet industry-standard productivity metrics.
  • Maintain clear and responsive communication via email and chat platforms.
  • Comply with company Security, Confidentiality, and Health and Safety protocols while ensuring team adherence.
  • Follow company IT and HR policies and ensure team compliance.
  • Exhibit ethical behavior and business practices, ensuring personal and team conduct aligns with organizational values.

Qualifications

Preferred Knowledge, Experience, and Skills

  • Fluent in German and English, with a strong emphasis on reading and writing.
  • Deep understanding of German culture.
  • Experience in the translation sector or professional translation work.
  • Proficient in business software applications (e.g., Microsoft Office, memoQ, Plunet).
  • Proactive with strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities, with a positive attitude.
  • Able to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and organizational skills.
  • Strong research and translation judgment skills, with self-motivation, adaptability, and professionalism.
