Targeted Support Specialist

We are working closely with a Local Authority in Lewisham to assist with the appointment of a Targeted Support Officer, on a 10-month contract, with the possibility of extension at the client's discretion. Please submit your CV for immediate consideration.
Rate of Pay: £19.50 - £25.04 per Hour
Key Responsibilities:- To be responsible for the operational delivery of targeted support meetings to all schools in Lewisham, regardless of status.
- To improve attendance for individual pupils and overall school attendance, including reducing persistent absence (PA) and severe absence (SA).
- To think strategically, solve problems, and make decisions to break down barriers preventing or impacting pupil attendance in educational settings.
- To gather, analyze data using statistical releases (DfE), Wonde, FFT, Studybugs, and Synergy, and present information to inform processes and procedures to improve attendance.
- To solve complex problems, showing innovation, tenacity, and sensitive interpersonal skills while working collaboratively with schools, attendance officers, and local authority colleagues on attendance, safeguarding, and associated matters.
- Knowledge of Working Together to Improve School Attendance 2024.
- Education Act 1996 and Anti-Social Behaviour Act 2003.
- Significant experience working in a child-centered way, ensuring indicators of child abuse and/or neglect are identified and action taken in a timely and appropriate manner in line with corporate procedure and national best practice.

- This role requires an enhanced DBS.
